Perdiz hunting has quickly moved up in the popular bird hunting options for South America. The Perdiz, as they are called by the local people of Argentina and Uruguay, is also known as the wild spotted tinamou. The Perdiz is often a hunt that can be combined with doves, ducks, or pigeons, depending on the area of Uruguay or Argentina you hunt. Perdiz season is the same for Argentina and Uruguay: May 1st to July 31st. The Perdiz are similar to a small partridge. The dogs pick up their scent, go on point and Perdiz will flush usually in pairs with fast wingbeats. The terrain Perdiz are found is short flat terrain, making the walk and Perdiz hunting a very enjoyable one. Los Gauchos offers Perdiz hunting May through July in both Argentina and Uruguay.
